This reads like a dark fairy tale. Which I adore.

The pictures sent my brain into hyperdrive to put scenes together. The juxtaposition of confidence and vulnerability was exquisite. The simpler lines (relatively) like - 'you always loved that' - pull one out of the trance and force us to pause. I was kind of looking around me to see if someone else was here. That would be fun!
