My name, as you can see, is "Debdutta Pal." I've always had to repeat it twice, thrice most of the time, to help people "hear" it.

Then came the slew of mispronunciations. I've also had a bunch of nicknames throughout my life, given to me by others, as pronouncing my name was deemed too hard by them.

Our names are a big part of our identity, and in understanding the struggle lies the first step of our journey to accepting things the way they are and yet be not bothered by them, as they are not in our control.
