Thank you for the kind compliment.
When I wrote this story, I genuinely thought that no one was going to read it. I was pretty sure that it wouldn't get curated, and it wasn't. Fortunately, the publication chose to accept my story, and that gave me some hope.
Until now, 21 people have read it with a cumulative reading time of 1 hr and 20 minutes. Many of them highlighted and clapped. That's a very meaningful accomplishment for me. It helped me realize that curation, a large number of views, or reads, are not the only metric for measuring the performance of a story.
A piece that I wrote entirely for myself being truly enjoyed by a few people can also be immensely gratifying.
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. I agree with you, there's definitely more than one type of writer, and I would like to believe that the world is large enough to accommodate all our voices. :)
