I love the idea. Triangle is a good start, and yes being obvious doesn't help. But the "good person" who has been straight with their feelings deserves better. They could meet someone like-minded and brave.

Whereas the "bad person" who's been brooding and not aware of their feelings could have a solid redemption arc. Happy endings all around, after a lot of turmoil.
