Now on Mastodon. Because Why Not?
Finding yet another platform to be ignored on
Lately, I’ve been faking it. Borrowing a confident voice-over from productivity-obsessed content creators I cringe binge, I’ve been doing new things I wouldn’t otherwise do, without questioning them too much.
Mastodon is yesterday’s news, but my joining it isn’t. Silencing the voice inside my head questioning the pointlessness of this write-up, I decided to keep calm and carry on. Shit, I don’t think anyone says it anymore. Anyways I’m here, and brace yourself for some dry, short-form content.
Not that I need a reason, but I found ten (listed below) to justify this decision. It was enough to plead in front of the panel of many me’s. The motion was passed, and on an unsuspecting night, I clicked on the link.
It didn’t work right away, as there was an issue with the hyphen in my Medium username. Sweat gripped my forehead worrying about the thousands of places my Medium links are, and how they would now be affected. Did I want the free account so bad, gambling to risk it all?
Contrary to popular belief, this place isn’t deserted and our generation isn’t lost even if Google is promoting sponsored posts before real ones. We survived, and it’s going to be fun. My first few posts were surprisingly liked.
