I think this is an important factor to consider.

When we work toward our goals, the path may be long and time-consuming. If we glance sideways and spot someone doing less and getting more, we can be tempted to doubt what we're doing. The thing is, however, if our assumption is true - it is so in this moment. Not in the future.
