I guess the moral is that no matter how much we wish to write for the love of it or like no one was reading, in reality, it still sucks when our stories don't do "well."

I, too, spent the last few months comparing my current numbers to those of the past, which wasn't that much to begin with.

Still, it was a bitter experience to go through as while I became a better writer and pushed my boundaries, the numbers danced on a declining trend.

Lack of readership, money, or any other form of external validation does something to us. For me, it slowly crushes my will to write, and then I ask myself who I am if I can't write.

Maybe this prompts us to push harder, try different alternatives, quit this platform, or be kinder to ourselves, and I guess that takeaway is different for everyone. ;)
