I don't think it's difficult to differentiate between criticism and trolling. One is feedback, and another is personally attacking someone, violating Medium's guidelines and general human code of conduct.

It's appalling to note that the CEO of Medium would engage with someone who is actively engaging in the latter instead of reprimanding/warning them.

Not so long ago, a popular female writer on this platform was warned for naming male writers in one of her pieces. And today, the opposite is happening and thriving. Calling it a disaster would be an understatement.

Thank you for standing up, Jessica and I would like to add that we are listening. I wish you success on Substack and, for entirely selfish reasons, hope you don't leave Medium. It wouldn't be the same without you. And if all the good people go because they've had enough, what will become of this place? I fear for that day.

However, you don't owe us anything. I hope this is the end of this debacle, and you can go back to writing what you want to talk about.
