Hello Readers,
Let me clarify that I don't actually think that "30" is old. I am young and feel young, as I should.
However, from the moment I've turned 20, people around me have made me feel aged. This list includes my mother, sister, 90% of my friends, job interviewers, and other sources such as the Internet and mainstream media.
The ability to say fuck you to society without any lingering doubts is challenging to attain. I've only recently started to give less (zero) fucks to sources and people who don't have my best interest at heart.
Thus, in this humorous and semi-satirical take, I challenge the things one is "supposed" to feel when they turn 30, especially as a woman, and discuss my alternative, hilarious (in my head) realizations, learnings, and feelings.
When I wrote this story, I hoped that it would break the double-digit barrier, i.e., more than ten views, and certainly didn't plan for it to reach and be liked by soooo many people.
Thus kindly bear with this piece filled with chaotic storytelling and weird jokes.
My humor delivery is similar to Captain Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and, therefore, can be difficult to understand. I hope that you try to understand my intention behind writing this story.
Thanks a ton for taking the time to read, like (clap), and respond to my story. It means a lot to me.
Until next time,
Debdutta
